Police have charged two teenagers after an alleged robbery spree targeting young people at bus stops in Melbourne’s south.

Southern Metro Crime Squad detectives allege the pair used a stolen Toyota to carry out two armed robberies on Sunday, 28 June.

Investigators say the pair demanded shoes and clothing. The victims handed over their belongings. They were not physically injured.

Police also allege a third person in the back seat told the pair to demand a jumper from one of the victims, which they handed over.

Police Track Vehicle

Officers spotted the Toyota in Cranbourne about 11am and began tracking its movements with assistance from the State Command Control Centre.

Protective Services Officers saw the vehicle pass Dandenong Railway Station shortly after.

The Toyota later pulled into a nearby shopping centre car park, where police arrested three teenage boys.

Police allege all three were inside the vehicle. Officers also recovered the stolen Toyota.

Detectives interviewed a 13-year-old boy and released him pending further enquiries.

Police charged a 16-year-old boy with three counts of armed robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.

They charged a 17-year-old boy with three counts of armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and dangerous driving.
