
Detectives have charged a 35-year-old Mornington man over an alleged knife assault that left another man with life-threatening injuries.
The alleged Mornington assault occurred outside a property in Cooba Court about 3.40pm on Tuesday, 4 August.
Police said the incident left a 41-year-old man with critical injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene and took him to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Officers arrested the 35-year-old a short time later.
Charges Laid Following Mornington Assault
Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives interviewed the man and charged him with:
- Recklessly causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence
- Using a knife in the commission of an assault
- Committing an indictable offence while on bail
The Mornington man remained in custody ahead of an appearance at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 5 August.
Victoria Police did not provide an update on the injured man’s condition in its latest statement.
