
A Beaumaris fatal crash has killed a 38-year-old Blind Bight man and left another passenger with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services responded after a white Volkswagen sedan left Beach Road and crashed onto the Bay Trail at about 12.30am on Monday, 11 August.
The Blind Bight man was travelling as a passenger and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics took a second passenger, a 45-year-old Carrum Downs man, to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested the driver, a 23-year-old Carrum Downs man, at the scene. He was also taken to hospital and remains under police guard.
Police Investigate Beaumaris Fatal Crash
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police have urged motorists who travelled through the Beaumaris area around the time of the collision to check their dashcam footage.
Investigators are also seeking CCTV footage and information that could assist with their inquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
