Victoria Police have released images of a vehicle similar to the one involved in the Beaumaris fatal crash investigation that followed the death of a Blind Bight man.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for anyone who saw the white Volkswagen before the crash to contact investigators.
Emergency services were called after a white Volkswagen sedan left Beach Road and crashed onto the Bay Trail about 12.30am on Tuesday, 11 August.
A 38-year-old Blind Bight man, who was travelling as a passenger, died at the scene.
Another passenger, a 45-year-old Carrum Downs man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Victoria Police said on Thursday that he remained in a life-threatening condition.
The driver, a 23-year-old Carrum Downs man, was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital. He remains under police guard.

Police Release Images of Similar Volkswagen
Detectives have released images of a white 2013 Volkswagen Up! similar to the vehicle involved in the crash.
The vehicle shown in the images is not the car involved in the collision.
Police hope the images will help people identify whether they saw a similar vehicle before the crash.
Dashcam Footage Sought
Investigators want to hear from anyone who was driving along Chesterville Road in Moorabbin or Charman Road and Beach Road in Beaumaris around the time of the collision.
Motorists who travelled through those areas from about 12.15am have been asked to check their dashcam foDootage.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage, CCTV vision or other information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report through the Crime Stoppers Victoria website.
The Beaumaris fatal crash investigation remains ongoing.
