Rosebud Pre-Poll More Settled On Wednesday

A calmer and more cohesive atmosphere was observed at Rosebud pre-poll on Wednesday, 29 April, following reports, footage and photos from the previous day showing confrontational scenes outside the early voting centre.

STPL News attended the Rosebud early voting site and found a more settled environment around voters, volunteers and campaign workers.

Campaigners from across the field were present, with volunteers handing out how-to-vote material as voters moved through the area.

Candidates And Volunteers Photographed

STPL News spoke with candidates and campaign teams at Rosebud pre-poll and took photographs with permission.

The only candidate STPL News did not photograph was Liberal candidate Anthony Marsh.

Marsh appeared to have left the immediate area shortly after STPL News arrived. STPL News was later notified by volunteers that he returned about 15 minutes after our departure.

Victorian Liberal Leader Jess Wilson MP was later photographed at Rosebud pre-poll, along with Flinders MP Zoe McKenzie.

Follow-Up To Previous Rosebud Pre-Poll Report

The visit followed an STPL News report published the previous day detailing videos, photographs and audio from Rosebud pre-poll, where Liberal campaign workers were accused of harassing volunteers, voters and One Nation candidate Darren Hercus.

By Wednesday, the tone at the site appeared noticeably more orderly.

Voters were able to move through the pre-poll area, while campaign volunteers continued handing out material during the final days of early voting.

Whatever the politics, the calmer atmosphere was a welcome change for voters, volunteers and campaigners.
