A Frankston man is expected to face charges after an alleged erratic driving incident and collision on Peninsula Link at Baxter.
Emergency services responded after a white Hyundai iLoad van and a grey four-wheel drive collided in the outbound lanes near Frankston-Flinders Road about 1.45pm on Saturday, 1 August.
Police allege the van’s driver left the scene and fled to a nearby underpass, where officers arrested him.
The 35-year-old Frankston man was interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons.
Investigators are examining reports that the van was driven erratically before the collision.
Police were also told the man walked along the freeway after the crash, behaved erratically and struck several vehicles.
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage
Investigators have asked motorists who travelled along Peninsula Link around the time of the incident to review their dashcam footage.
