Victoria Police detectives have charged a 55-year-old Rosebud man over the vandalism of 11 Sorrento businesses, which police say caused nearly $100,000 in damages.
Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged the man on Sunday, 26 July, with 11 counts of criminal damage.
Police allege the man threw bricks through the front windows of businesses along Ocean Beach Road at about 3am on Thursday, 16 July.
Police have also charged with assault over an unrelated matter.
The man was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 20 August.

STPL News reported extensively on the damage shortly after the Sorrento shop vandalism, including photographs of smashed shopfronts supplied by Sorrento News and published with permission.
Earlier reports found that pavers removed from the nearby footpath appeared to have been used to smash the windows.
The Sorrento shop vandalism also renewed concerns about the condition of the Ocean Beach Road footpath after a resident told STPL News that locals had raised concerns about loose, uneven and slippery pavers for several years.
Mornington Peninsula Shire crews replaced missing pavers and cleaned the shopping strip following the incident.
The Shire had not confirmed whether it planned broader repairs to the footpath when STPL News published its initial report.
