DEECA has blocked mechanical beach raking on several Mornington Peninsula beaches, leaving only 6 km of the Shire’s 31 km cleaning program eligible for raking. The decision raises questions over cost, erosion impacts and the councillor vote that reinstated raking nearly 12 months ago.
