STPL News received no funding through the Federal Government’s Journalism Assistance Fund.
The government says the fund will provide $67.6 million to 185 Australian news publishers and support more than 2,000 journalist positions.
Funding Recipients
The Federal Government has published a list of media outlets, including the entities that received funding and the amounts awarded.
The list includes national, regional and local media organisations, including publishers operating in the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston media market.
We encourage readers to search the list, see which local publishers received taxpayer-funded assistance and review the amounts awarded.
STPL News received no funding through the Journalism Assistance Fund.
Journalism Assistance Fund recipients
The table lists published grant recipients, associated outlets, ownership information, grant amounts and each recipient’s share of the published funding total. Grant amounts are bold. Publishers operating on the Mornington Peninsula, in Frankston or nearby south-east Victorian areas are also highlighted in bold. Entries marked “unverified” require further independent confirmation.

How STPL News Operates
STPL News remains independently owned.
We fund our reporting through local advertising, sponsorships, memberships and reader support.
We compete in the same local media market as publishers receiving significant taxpayer-funded wage assistance, without receiving that assistance ourselves.
Support Independent Local News
Local businesses that advertise with STPL News do more than promote their products and services.
Their support helps fund responsive local reporting across the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston.
It also helps STPL News continue covering stories that may otherwise receive little attention.
