Man Arrested as Police Investigate Damage to Hastings Station Lawn

Someone appears to have learned the meaning of f#$% around, find out after a motorcycle allegedly crossed the front lawn of Hastings Police Station twice in three days, with police later arresting a 22-year-old man during the investigation.

Police allege a motorcycle crossed the station’s front lawn about 9.30pm on Monday, 6 July, causing damage.

They say the motorcycle returned about 5.40pm on Wednesday, 8 July and again travelled across the lawn.

Search warrant leads to arrest

During the search, officers allegedly found a homemade firearm and arrested a 22-year-old man.

Police interviewed him over alleged firearms offences and expect to charge him at a later date.

Police have not said whether they believe the arrested man rode the motorcycle during either alleged incident.

The criminal damage investigation remains ongoing.
