Frankston’s city centre will gain a major new indoor entertainment destination when iPlay Australia opens its first Victorian venue on Thursday, 30 July.

The family-owned company has transformed the former TK Maxx site into a 2,500-square-metre arcade and entertainment centre featuring more than 160 games, indoor bumper cars, a dedicated claw-machine area and party facilities.

The venue will also introduce Victoria’s first iPlay Pandemonium Challenge Rooms, where teams race against the clock to complete physical and mental challenges.

With attractions aimed at different age groups, iPlay Frankston looks set to become a hit with teenagers, families and groups of friends from Frankston and across the Mornington Peninsula.

Its central location and 10pm closing time will provide another option for after-school outings, birthday celebrations, weekends and school holidays.

New Life for Former Retail Site

The opening will bring a large retail space back into use while adding a significant indoor leisure attraction to Frankston’s city centre.

iPlay Frankston will operate from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week, giving families and teenagers access to the venue throughout the day and into the evening.

The centre will accept bookings for casual visits, birthday parties, group events and corporate functions.

The timing also places the venue in a strong position ahead of the September school holidays, when families across the region will be looking for indoor activities.

First Step in Victorian Expansion

The Frankston venue marks the beginning of iPlay’s expansion into Victoria.

Electrical engineer John Sophios founded the company 35 years ago. It now operates 28 venues across Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

Mr Sophios said the company had focused on creating venues where families, friends and communities could spend time together.

“We are incredibly proud to have spent the past 35 years creating entertainment destinations that bring people together by providing fun, engaging environments where families, friends and communities can connect and create lasting memories,” Mr Sophios said.

iPlay plans to open more venues in Victoria and the Northern Territory over the next 12 months.

Readers can find venue information, opening details and booking options through the iPlay Frankston website.
