Somerville’s own Noah Hart represented Australia on the international stage last month, competing at the UCI BMX World Championships in Denmark.
Racing in the men’s 17–24 age class, Noah battled through tough heats but narrowly missed out on qualifying. He placed 5th, 5th, and 7th in his three motos — with a top-four finish required to progress.
Despite the disappointment, Noah has now secured a world ranking of 104th in his class, a significant achievement for the young local rider.

The UCI BMX World Championships are held annually and bring together the best riders from across the globe. This year’s event in Denmark attracted hundreds of competitors across junior, elite and masters classes, with racing taking place on one of Europe’s premier BMX tracks.
Before flying out to Denmark, Noah told STPL News that the chance to compete at a world championship was “a dream come true” and a goal he had worked towards for years.
While this campaign ended in the heats, Noah says the experience has only motivated him further to keep pushing and improving against the best in the world. Those in the know, say Hart is one of those names to look out for in the coming years.
