
Police took a 34-year-old Somerville man into custody after officers allegedly found weapons following a collision involving an allegedly stolen vehicle in Lynbrook.

Victoria Police said Casey Highway Patrol officers responded after a Toyota Prado allegedly collided with a wheelchair accessible taxi on South Gippsland Highway shortly before 10.30am on Sunday.
Police said no one in the taxi suffered injuries.
The Toyota allegedly left the scene before officers later found it dumped in a shopping centre car park on Lynbrook Boulevard.
Police said officers searched the area and found the alleged driver walking along South Gippsland Highway.
Weapons Allegedly Found
Officers searched the man and allegedly found an imitation firearm, multiple large knives, an axe and a baseball bat.
Police said further checks showed that vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Cranbourne West address on 6 June.
Police also allege the man drove while unlicensed.
Victoria Police said investigators expected to interview the Somerville man.
At the time of the published police update, Victoria Police had not confirmed charges.
