An incident at Somerville Central near Target and Chemist involved a woman being followed and verbally abused by a group of young boys, prompting security attendance and strong community backlash.

An incident was witnessed at Somerville Central, near Target and Chemist, involving several young boys and a woman who works at a nearby business.

The boys were observed following the woman and directing abusive language towards her while riding bikes and e-scooters in the area.

According to the eyewitness account, the woman entered a nearby store and waited inside. When she later exited, one of the boys again approached her on an e-scooter, continued the behaviour and followed her from the shops towards the car park.

Shortly afterwards, another member of the public intervened, describing the behaviour as bullying.
