A large-scale search off Mornington Pier has continued throughout the weekend, with search teams now treating efforts to locate a man missing since Friday night as a recovery operation.

Incident Details

Emergency services were called to Schnapper Point Drive around 11:15 pm on Friday, following reports that a small boat carrying two men had overturned about one kilometre from shore.

One man was rescued by another vessel and treated by paramedics at the scene, escaping serious injury.

The second man, believed to be in his 20s, has not been found.

Ongoing Recovery Search

The extensive search effort — involving Victoria Police Water Police, the Air Wing, uniform police, Life Saving Victoria, HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service), and local coast guard crews — continued throughout the weekend.
