A man has died following a collision between a car and truck on Peninsula Link at Carrum Downs early Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Peninsula Link near the Frankston-Dandenong Road off-ramp about 3.20am on Wednesday, 9 September, following reports the two vehicles had collided.
Victoria Police said the male truck driver stopped at the scene and was not physically injured.
Police located the car with no occupants inside before searching the surrounding area and finding a deceased man nearby.
The man had not been formally identified when police issued an update shortly before 5am.
Major Collision Investigation Unit Investigating
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and determine its cause.
The southbound carriageway of Peninsula Link between Thompsons Road and Frankston-Dandenong Road was expected to remain closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, has CCTV or dashcam footage, or has other information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report online.
