Police investigating the death of a 57-year-old Rosebud man found critically injured early Saturday morning say they are no longer treating the incident as a potential hit-run.
Somerville Highway Patrol is investigating after passers-by found the man at the intersection of Point Nepean Road and Boneo Road in Rosebud shortly before 12.40am on Saturday, 26 September.
CPR was performed on the man, but he died at the scene.
Victoria Police initially said Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives were investigating whether the man’s injuries had resulted from a hit-run collision.
Police Speak To Bus Driver
In an update issued on Saturday afternoon, Victoria Police said investigators had spoken to a bus driver in relation to the incident.
Police said the incident is no longer being treated as a potential hit-run.
No further details about the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries were provided in the update.
Report To Be Prepared For Coroner
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
Investigators are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV or dashcam footage, or has other information to come forward.
