The latest edition of the Somerville Times will be in distribution from Monday, 11 May 2026, with free copies available across the usual collection points throughout Somerville, Tyabb, Hastings, Baxter, Langwarrin and surrounding areas.
Edition 033 is led by STPL News’ coverage of the Emil Madsen Reserve upgrade, with updated costings pushing the broader project close to $18 million after councillors backed a larger option earlier this year.
The edition also follows the expected cost of the Briars Ward by-election after Anthony Marsh’s move to State Parliament, with ratepayers expected to carry the bill for another council election.
Inside this month’s paper, readers will also find coverage of the Somerville Business Group town clean-up, Peninsula Quarries community grants, a profile on Frank Schiefler, a local feature on Frankston author Dan Stroede, the latest local crime round-up, and a look back at Somerville Football Club’s 1986 premiership reunion.
The Somerville Times remains free to collect and continues to focus on independent local news across the Peninsula.
Pick up a copy from Monday at the usual collection points, or visit stplnews.com.au for daily updates.
