Capel Sound Community Group has secured a $5,000 grant to help Eastbourne Primary School families cover the cost of camps, excursions and school sporting activities.

Community Bank Southern Peninsula provided the funding, which will help students take part in activities their families may otherwise struggle to afford.

Grant to Help Students Take Part

Capel Sound Community Group secretary Bettyanne Foster said the organisation was proud to support local families.

Capel Sound Community Group is proud to be able to support our local community in this way, especially with the generosity of Community Bank Southern Peninsula,” Ms Foster said.

The community group has supported the local area for almost 20 years.

Rising household costs can make school camps, excursions and sporting events difficult for some families to afford. The grant will help reduce those financial barriers and allow more students to participate.

Representatives handed over the cheque at Eastbourne Primary School on Wednesday, 29 July.

Community Bank Southern Peninsula representative Vanessa Curtis and Ms Foster presented the cheque to principal Steven Hamill and assistant principal Caro Mather outside the school’s new administration building.
