New bus timetable changes affecting parts of the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston are now in effect, with revised services designed to improve connections with Melbourne’s public transport network.
The changes began on Sunday 5 July as part of a broader update to bus services across Melbourne’s south-east following the opening of the Metro Tunnel.
According to Transport Victoria, several local routes have been updated to provide better connections with train services, while some timetables have been adjusted to improve reliability.
What has changed?
Several routes serving the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston have received timetable updates, including revised services on Routes 781, 784 and 785, additional Saturday services on Route 833, and the withdrawal of Route 786.
Transport Victoria said the changes are intended to improve connections between buses and trains while making the public transport network more convenient and reliable for passengers.
Check your regular service
Passengers who regularly travel by bus are encouraged to check their route before travelling, as departure and arrival times may have changed even if the route itself remains the same.
Updated timetables and journey planning information are available through Transport Victoria and the Public Transport Victoria Journey Planner.
A wider transport update
The local bus changes form part of a larger package of timetable updates across Melbourne’s south-east, introduced alongside the opening of the Metro Tunnel and associated rail timetable changes.
While many passengers will notice only minor timetable adjustments, those who rely on connecting bus and train services may benefit from improved transfer times.
Residents are encouraged to review the latest timetables to ensure they are travelling with the most up-to-date information.
