Stolen Ute Allegedly Reached 200km/h
Operation Trinity officers spotted the Holden Commodore ute, allegedly displaying false registration plates, in Chadstone about 12.50am. Police deployed stop sticks after the driver allegedly accelerated away during an attempted intercept.
Despite the damaged tyres, police allege the vehicle reached speeds of up to 200km/h and travelled on the wrong side of the road at times before coming to a stop in Springvale. The driver allegedly fled on foot before being arrested nearby.
STPL News reported the alleged 200km/h drive and arrest earlier on Friday, before police announced that charges had been laid.
