Mount Martha Man Faces Drug Charges After Frankston Arrest

A 50-year-old Mount Martha man faces multiple drug charges after police allegedly found several substances and more than $5,000 in cash during a Frankston operation.

A Mount Martha man faces drug trafficking and possession charges after an arrest in Frankston. Police allegedly found several substances and more than $5,000 in cash.

Victoria Police arrested the 50-year-old at Frankston Railway Station on Thursday, 13 August.

The arrest formed part of a five-hour Frankston station operation that resulted in 40 arrests.

Drugs and Cash Allegedly Found

Police allege the man was carrying a traffickable quantity of drugs.

The substances allegedly included methylamphetamine, MDMA, ecstasy, 1,4-butanediol, cannabis and prescription medication.

Officers also allegedly found more than $5,000 in cash.

Mount Martha Man Faces Multiple Charges

Police charged the man with trafficking a drug of dependence.

He also faces seven counts of possessing a drug of dependence.

In addition, police charged him with negligently dealing with proceeds of crime and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

Arrest Part of Broader Frankston Operation

The arrest occurred during an operation targeting antisocial behaviour and alleged drug and weapons offences.

Transit South led the operation with support from Protective Services Officers. The Frankston High Visibility Community Engagement Team and Dog Squad also assisted.

During the five-hour operation, officers made 40 arrests and seized five edged weapons.

Police also issued 16 cannabis cautions and found three people wanted on outstanding warrants. They located another two people listed on whereabouts.

Officers issued seven penalty infringement notices for weapons and transport offences.

Meanwhile, authorised officers checked more than 1,600 public transport tickets and myki cards. They issued more than 40 infringement notices for transport offences.

Mount Martha Man Remanded in Custody

The man was remanded to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 August.

No court has determined the allegations against him.
