Man Charged Over Alleged Arson in Rosebud and McCrae

Police have charged a 60-year-old Rosebud man in connection with a series of fires that occurred in Rosebud and McCrae on Thursday, 23 November.

Police have charged a 60-year-old Rosebud man in connection with a series of fires that occurred in Rosebud and McCrae on Thursday, 23 November.

It is alleged that multiple fires were deliberately lit between 7am and 9:20am in areas near Point Nepean Road and the Peninsula Link Freeway.

The man was arrested around 9:40am on Point Nepean Road in McCrae. He has since been charged with conduct endangering life and five counts of criminal damage by fire.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on the 25 November.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incidents.
