Council Discusses Interim CEO Appointment in Confidential Meeting

The Mornington Peninsula Shire Council held a confidential in-camera meeting on Wednesday night to discuss undisclosed matters.

RPP FM reports that the Councillikely‘ addressed and ratified the appointment of an interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With outgoing CEO John Baker departing for Queensland this week, Shire Mayor Anthony Marsh emphasised the urgency of filling the role during his recent appearance on RPP FM’s Peninsula Talks.

Mayor Marsh stated that the appointment of the interim CEO is a priority, as is a more permanent solution for the role. He also highlighted that the four-year Council plan and the upcoming budget are key focuses.

“There’s a lot of new councils this term, eight out of eleven, so making sure we hit the ground running with the budget process so everyone’s aware of what that environment looks like will be the next priority.”

Said Marsh.
