Victoria Police are appealing for public assistance following an attempted armed robbery aboard a Frankston-bound train in March.
Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives say the incident occurred at approximately 11.30am on Sunday 23 March, while the train was en route to Frankston. The male offender is believed to have disembarked at Cheltenham Railway Station shortly after the incident.
Police have described the man as being around 35 years old with a tanned complexion. At the time, he was wearing a camouflage hooded jacket and a light blue cap. He was also carrying a black luggage case and wearing a black backpack.
Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation.
