Somerville Business Group members gathered at the Somerville Football Netball Club on Saturday 23 May for a Christmas in May event at the Eagles’ Corporate Box.

The event was held as Somerville hosted Karingal, with finger food and drinks provided from 12.30pm for Somerville Business Group members.

Somerville capped the day with a win over Karingal, defeating the visitors 14.15 (99) to 11.6 (72).

Federal Member for Flinders Zoe McKenzie attended the event, along with Beek Beek Ward Councillor Kate Roper. Hastings MP Paul Mercurio also dropped in briefly during the day.

The Somerville Swooper was also spotted in the Corporate Box, enjoying the finger food and drinks on offer.

Local Business Connections

The event gave members an informal setting to catch up, build local connections and support one of Somerville’s long-standing sporting clubs.

Local business groups can give traders, sole operators and business owners a practical way to meet other people in the area, share information and stay connected to issues affecting the local economy.

For smaller businesses, that can mean new local contacts, referrals, shared promotion opportunities and a stronger link to community organisations, sporting clubs and local decision-makers.

Somerville Business Group provides a local network for businesses and community members in Somerville, helping members stay connected and involved in the town.
