Frankston Waterfront will host a new winter event this month, with the first Frankston Fire Festival set to bring fire pits, live music, food stalls and large-scale fire art to the foreshore.
The free event will run from 4pm to 8.30pm on Saturday 13 June, with Frankston City Council expecting about 4,000 visitors.
The festival will centre on a winter waterfront program built around fire, food and live entertainment. Visitors will be able to gather around fire pits, watch roving fire performers and see the lighting of a monumental fire sculpture created by Pyromancer and Co.
Live music and winter attractions

The music program will feature blues, soul and folk, headlined by ARIA Award-winning band Collard Greens and Gravy.
The line-up also includes CJ Commerford & The Supertones, Jesse Valach & The Testaments and Hand Over Hammer.
Council says the event will also include live ice sculpting by internationally recognised artist Kevin Kapusi-Starow, creating a fire-and-ice feature alongside the broader waterfront program.
For visitors looking for a different winter experience, State of Nirvana saunas will operate by the bay.

Food vendors will offer flame-cooked meals, winter comfort food, fireside treats, mulled beverages and other food and drink options. Boutique market stalls will also sell handmade products, artisan treats and locally crafted goods.
Council says event will support winter trade
Frankston City Council has positioned the festival as part of a broader push to draw visitors into the city outside the warmer months.
Frankston City Mayor Cr Sue Baker said the festival would help activate the city during winter.
Winter is traditionally a quieter time, but the Fire Festival is about bringing Frankston City to life even during the cooler months.
By creating experiences like this, we’re giving people more reasons to get out, explore and enjoy everything our city has to offer year-round.
It’s another important step in strengthening our events calendar and reinforcing our reputation as a must-visit destination in every season.
Councillor Steffie Conroy said the event aimed to create a shared winter experience on the waterfront.
There’s something special about gathering around a fire — sharing food, music and moments.
We want people to slow down, stay awhile and experience our city at its cozy, vibrant best.
Part of Frankston’s major events program

The Frankston Fire Festival forms part of Council’s Destination Event Attraction Program, which supports major events designed to attract visitors, support local businesses and promote Frankston as a cultural and lifestyle destination.
The program is now in its third year.
Council says three events from the 2025-2026 program, the Carlsberg Beach Club, Frankston Swim Classic and Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, collectively attracted more than 48,337 visitors and generated an estimated $3.9 million in economic impact.
The Fire Festival will be the final event in the 2025-2026 program.
