Women’s Community Shelters Limited will receive funding from the Albanese Government’s Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program to purchase three new dwellings in the region. This investment is part of a broader $100 million national initiative aimed at increasing safe housing options for vulnerable women and children, as well as older women at risk of homelessness.
Labor candidate for Flinders, Sarah Race, welcomed the funding, emphasising its impact on the local community and challenging common misconceptions about housing insecurity in the region.
The funding is expected to significantly improve access to crisis and transitional accommodation, offering greater security and stability to those in need.
