Victoria Police Ramp Up Drink Driving Enforcement in December

Victoria Police are reminding drivers that December is historically the worst month for drink driving on Victorian roads, with a concerning rise in alcohol-related incidents. Over the past three years, 2591 drink driving detections were recorded in December—20 per cent higher than in November.

December also recorded the highest number of collisions involving alcohol, highlighting the dangers of impaired driving during the festive season.

In response, Victoria Police have announced an increased focus on alcohol and drug testing throughout December and into January, aiming to curb risky behaviour and ensure road safety during the holiday period.

Stay safe this Christmas by planning ahead and making responsible choices.
