Homicide Squad Detectives are working to unravel the events that led to the deaths of two people in a shooting incident on Parson Street, Rye, early this morning.

Victoria Police have cordoned off Parson Street in Rye after two bodies were discovered inside a home early Monday morning.
Police responded to reports of gunshots shortly after 4:00 am. A man and a woman were found inside the home with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by police and paramedics to resuscitate them, both died at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the property shortly after 4:00 am following reports of an altercation. Police believe a man and a woman arrived at the address and became involved in a confrontation with the residents of the home.
A male resident and the visiting woman were found with gunshot wounds when authorities arrived. Despite efforts to save them, both succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Another man fled the property before police arrived, prompting a search to locate him. Investigators believe all parties involved were known to one another.
The deceased male has been identified as a 29-year-old Rye man, while the woman has not yet been formally identified.
Police are appealing for information from the public to assist in identifying the woman and locating the man who left the scene. Investigators are also seeking CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area to aid their inquiries.
