What Is Going On at the Shire?

Reports from an insider are that the Mornington Peninsula Shire's Director of Planning, Renae Littlejohn, has suddenly left the role. The insider further reports high staff turnover and low morale within the organisation.

An insider has told STPL News that the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council is facing fresh uncertainty following the sudden departure of Executive Member and Director of Planning & Environment Renae Littlejohn. The news comes as a shock surprise, given it has been only 4 months since Ms Littlejohn left the South Gippsland Shire Council after 12 years service. It is not yet known why she has left the role, and the Shire has not made any public comment on the matter.

Our insider also noted that staff turnover at the council is high, and morale within the organisation is “incredibly low.” Concerns about internal challenges have been raised before, with past reports highlighting concerns within the Shire’s leadership.

Ms Littlejohn’s departure raises questions about the stability of the council’s executive and the function of planning department which plays a crucial role in managing development and infrastructure projects across the Peninsula. Residents and local businesses will be watching closely to see how the Shire responds to this latest development.
