Police have charged three teenagers following an alleged aggravated burglary in St Andrews Beach, which led to a high-speed police pursuit and the recovery of two stolen vehicles in Frankston.

Stolen Car Triggers Pursuit

Residents of a home on Bass Meadows Boulevard awoke to the sound of their Genesis G70 sedan being driven from their driveway around 12:30 AM on Sunday, 16 February.

A short time later, police spotted the stolen blue Genesis G70 driving in convoy with a white Kia Cerato along Boneo Road in Rosebud. Officers tracked both vehicles as they travelled towards the Mornington Peninsula Freeway before calling in the Victoria Police Air Wing for aerial support.

Cars Abandoned, Teenagers Arrested

The stolen vehicles entered Baxter Park in Frankston South, where the Genesis was abandoned. Meanwhile, the Kia Cerato was tracked at speeds exceeding 200 km/h along Moorooduc Highway, allegedly travelling on the wrong side of the road.At some point along Dalpura Circuit, two passengers reportedly exited the vehicle before the remaining three occupants continued driving. The Kia was later dumped in Plover Close, where the three remaining suspects fled on foot.A coordinated response involving uniformed officers, local detectives, and the Dog Squad led to the swift arrest of three teenagers nearby.

Teenagers Charged

Police have confirmed that three individuals—two boys, aged 14 and 15, and a 17-year-old girl, all from Melbourne’s southern suburbs—have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle. They have been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date. Investigations are ongoing into the two additional suspects who exited the Kia before it was abandoned.

Kia Stolen Days Earlier

Authorities also revealed that the white Kia Cerato had been stolen from the Waterways area on Thursday, 13 February.
