Police Appeal for Dash Cam Footage After Serious Collision on Mornington Peninsula Freeway

A high-speed crash near Dromana has prompted police to seek public assistance. Dash cam footage may help investigators piece together how the incident unfolded.

Police are calling for public assistance following a high-speed crash on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway near Dromana on Wednesday evening, 16 April.

At approximately 7:15pm, a Toyota Yaris was reportedly travelling at excessive speed inbound on the freeway when it collided with a Mazda, causing the Mazda to flip onto its roof.

Police have not yet confirmed the extent of any injuries but say the incident could have resulted in far more serious consequences.

Somerville Highway Patrol is now investigating and appealing for dash cam footage or any witnesses who may have seen the vehicles before or during the collision.
