Peninsula Health Set to Merge with Alfred Health and Koo Wee Rup Health in 2026

Peninsula Health CEO Helen Cooper has confirmed that the voluntary merger between Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, and Koo Wee Rup Health will be finalised in just 12 months, marking a significant development in healthcare services for the region.

The amalgamation is scheduled to take effect from 1 January next year, uniting the three health services under one streamlined organisation.

“We’re very excited about that,” Cooper told RPP FM

“It will just mean that there’s more services available for the growing demand down here. We anticipate that over the next 12 months, we’ll work together as a team and are confident this will go smoothly into 2026, where we’ll continue to provide care across the whole spectrum.”

The merger aims to expand healthcare access and improve service delivery as population growth continues to place increasing demand on health infrastructure. The unified organisation is expected to better coordinate resources and offer a broader range of healthcare solutions to patients across the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas.

A Collaborative Future

The merger is part of a long-term strategic vision to enhance healthcare outcomes while ensuring the sustainability of critical health services in rapidly developing regions. The integration process will involve collaborative planning across clinical and administrative departments to minimise disruption and ensure continuity of care.

As the countdown begins, community members and healthcare staff can expect more updates as the transition progresses toward full implementation.
