The recognition follows an international vote involving travellers, spa visitors and industry professionals. The Mornington Peninsula venue was selected ahead of similar wellness destinations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The award coincides with the 20-year milestone for Peninsula Hot Springs. Since opening in 2005, the site has welcomed more than eight million visitors.
