Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Serious Crash in Tooradin

A 39-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition and is fighting for his life following a serious crash involving a BMW sedan in Tooradin on 20 January 2025.

Victoria Police have advised that Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently investigating a serious crash in Tooradin that occurred on Monday evening, 20 January 2025, leaving a motorcyclist in critical condition.

The incident took place around 6 pm on the South Gippsland Highway, involving a motorcycle and a BMW sedan. Preliminary reports suggest that both vehicles were travelling on the highway when the collision occurred.

The 39-year-old motorcyclist from Jam Jerrup suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The 35-year-old driver of the BMW, from Newport, was arrested at the scene and was interviewed. He has been subsequently charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury.

Victoria Police allege that the man drove his BMW sedan into the path of the motorbike on the South Gippsland Highway, near the intersection of Dalmore Road, in Tooradin at about 6pm. The 39-year-old motorcyclist from Jam Jerrup is fighting for his life in Melbourne Hospital.

Detectives are still investigating and urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
