The newly elected Mornington Peninsula Shire Council is set to meet for the first time this evening, featuring a mix of returning and newly elected councillors.

Representing the diverse wards of the peninsula, this council brings together fresh perspectives and experienced leadership. Among the nine councillors, only two are women: Cr Kate Roper of Beek Beek Ward, who is returning to council, and newcomer Cr Andrea Allen of Nepean Ward.

Returning to council are Cr Anthony Marsh of Briars Ward and Cr David Gill of Coolart Ward, both bringing their prior experience to the new term.

The remaining councillors are new to the role, ready to make their mark:

  • Cr Max Patton for Benbenjie Ward
  • Cr Patrick Binyon for Brokil Ward
  • Cr Steven Batty for Kackeraboite Ward
  • Cr Bruce Ranken for Moorooduc Ward
  • Cr Paul Pingiaro for Tanti Ward
  • Cr Cam Williams for Tootgarook Ward

This fresh-faced council aims to address key issues for the Mornington Peninsula community, including infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

Meanwhile, Frankston’s new council will convene for their inaugural meeting tomorrow night (Wednesday), marking the beginning of a new chapter for the neighbouring municipality.
