Man Drowns at Balnarring Beach

A man tragically drowned at Balnarring Beach on Boxing Day after falling from his kayak. Emergency services attended, but he could not be revived.

Police have reported that a man has drowned today at Balnarring Beach.

Emergency services were called to the beach near Mason-Smith Road shortly before 1:00 pm after reports that a man had fallen from his kayak into the water.

Despite the efforts of bystanders who pulled the man to shore and paramedics who attempted to revive him, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man’s identity is yet to be formally confirmed.

Victoria Police will prepare a report for the coroner, and no further information is available at this time.

Beachgoers are reminded to stay vigilant and exercise caution around waterways during the busy holiday season.
