Dromana, VIC – A 36-year-old Dromana man has been charged following an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred on Sunday night in Dromana.
At approximately 9:30 pm on 9 March 2025, a 48-year-old woman from Craigieburn and her dog were crossing Pier Street when they were struck by a white 4WD vehicle. According to investigators, the impact caused the woman to land on the bonnet of the vehicle, which then accelerated, resulting in her falling onto the road. The driver did not stop to render assistance.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. Her dog was unharmed in the incident.
The following day, the Dromana man presented himself at a police station, where he was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including:
- Reckless conduct endangering life
- Driving in a manner dangerous causing serious injury
- Careless driving
- Failure to render assistance to a seriously injured person
- Failure to render assistance to an injured person after an accident
- Failure to exchange details after an accident where a person was injured
He has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 15 April 2025.
