A 38-year-old Dandenong man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that occurred this morning in Carrum, leaving two cyclists seriously injured.
The incident took place around 6:30 am on the Nepean Highway, between McLeod and Eel Race roads, where the cyclists—a 52-year-old man from Ormond and a 48-year-old man from Glen Waverley—were struck from behind by a vehicle that subsequently fled the scene.
Following a tip-off from a member of the public, police located the suspect at a Dandenong residence around 5:30 pm. He has been interviewed and released pending summons, with anticipated charges including reckless conduct endangering life.
Both victims were transported to hospital with serious injuries. The investigation remains ongoing, and police continue to appeal for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward.
