Man Arrested Following Frankston North Shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have made further progress in their investigation into the non-fatal shooting of a 36-year-old Dandenong man earlier this month.

A 22-year-old Seaford man was arrested in Melbourne’s CBD shortly after midday today. He is currently being interviewed by investigators and is expected to face charges for a range of offences.

Additional Arrests

Last night, police also arrested a 59-year-old Frankston North woman, who was interviewed and subsequently released pending further enquiries.

These arrests follow a public appeal for information made by police on Tuesday, 19 November, as part of their ongoing investigation into the linked home invasion and non-fatal shooting.

Incident Overview

The 36-year-old victim sustained life-altering injuries after being shot during an altercation with a group of people at an address on Armata Crescent around 7.15 pm on Monday, 4 November. He remains hospitalised.

Previous Arrests

To date, eight people have been charged in connection with these incidents:

  • A 17-year-old boy from Bentleigh
  • An 18-year-old woman from Frankston North
  • A 21-year-old man from Mornington
  • A 22-year-old man from Frankston North
  • A 23-year-old woman from Mornington
  • A 24-year-old man from Cranbourne North
  • A 26-year-old woman from Carrum Downs
  • A 29-year-old man from Carrum Downs

Additionally, a 28-year-old woman from Cranbourne North was arrested earlier and released pending further enquiries.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Dave Shannon emphasised the gravity of the case, stating:

“The outcome of this incident has been devastating for a young family – a 36-year-old man remains in hospital with life-altering injuries.”

He also appealed for continued public assistance:

“Investigators are very keen to speak to anyone with knowledge of this incident. If you have any information, please come forward and speak to police. This can be done anonymously via Crime Stoppers.”
