Narre Warren, VIC – A lifeguard was allegedly attacked by a group of youths at a Narre Warren swimming pool last month, leading to five people being charged following a police investigation.
The incident took place at a Park Road aquatic centre around 5.50pm on Sunday, 19 January, when a 19-year-old male lifeguard was approached and assaulted while on duty. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police Raids Lead to Multiple Arrests
On Sunday, Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives executed search warrants at properties in Cranbourne North and Narre Warren South, leading to multiple arrests:
- A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both from Cranbourne North, were arrested and charged with affray and assault. They were bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 23 May.
- Two 17-year-old boys from the Casey area were also charged with affray and assault and bailed to appear at a children’s court on 3 March.
- A 15-year-old boy from the Casey area was released pending further enquiries.In a separate development, an 18-year-old Cranbourne North man self-presented to Narre Warren Police Station yesterday afternoon. He was charged with affray and assault and bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 23 May.
