STPL News has launched a community feedback survey inviting residents in Hastings, Mornington and Frankston to rate their local state member’s performance during the current parliamentary term (2022–2026).

The survey focuses on performance, accessibility, community engagement, and real experiences with electorate offices, including whether residents have approached their MP for help and how that support was handled.

This initiative forms part of STPL News’ ongoing election coverage, which will build detailed profiles of candidates and sitting members in the lead-up to the 2026 Victorian state election.

Who Is Included

The survey is currently open for the following electorates and representatives:

  • Hastings: Paul Mercurio (Australian Labor Party)
  • Mornington: Chris Crewther (Liberal Party)
  • Frankston: Paul Edbrooke (Australian Labor Party)

Nepean: Responses will open after the by-election result.

What We Are Asking

The survey invites residents to share their views on their local MP, including:

  • An overall performance rating for the current term (0–10)
  • Whether the MP appears to act in the community’s best interests
  • Whether you have contacted the MP or their office for help or support and what that experience was like
  • The key issues you want prioritised in 2026

Participants can also provide examples, details and timeframes to support their responses.

How STPL News Will Use Responses

Responses may inform future STPL News reporting, including electorate report cards, issue-based investigations, and candidate profiles.

Where respondents consent, STPL News may publish direct quotes. Where consent is not provided, responses may be used in summary form to identify trends and community concerns.

If a serious allegation is raised, STPL News may contact respondents to verify details before publishing any claim. Relevant electorate offices will be offered a right of reply on key themes before publication.
