Frankston residents will soon be able to pick up free graffiti removal kits as part of a 12-month council trial aimed at curbing vandalism across the city.
The program, which begins this month, is designed to make it easier for householders to clean graffiti from private property and contribute to keeping neighbourhoods presentable. Each kit comes with removal solution, brushes, gloves, safety glasses and instructions.
Council says the trial will test demand for the kits, with one available per household on a first-come basis. Eligible residents aged 18 and over can collect theirs from the Frankston Civic Centre by showing proof of address.
Graffiti has been a recurring issue in parts of Frankston, with public infrastructure, fences and shopfronts often targeted. While council crews handle clean-up on public assets, private owners are left to cover the cost and labour of removal. The kits are intended to ease that burden and encourage faster action.
The trial will run until September 2026, after which council will review whether the program should continue.
More details about the initiative are available on the council’s website.
