Frankston Council Announces $425,000 Support Package for Local Relief Agencies

Frankston residents struggling with cost-of-living pressures will soon benefit from more than $425,000 in funding for community relief and support agencies, after Frankston City Council confirmed its 2025–26 Local Support Package.

The package, announced by Mayor Cr Kris Bolam JP alongside local MPs and community leaders, will help dozens of organisations provide services ranging from food relief and homelessness support to mental health programs and youth mentoring.

What the Local Support Package Delivers

Council has allocated $210,000 to local agencies delivering immediate support such as:

  • Emergency food relief and free community meals
  • Clothing, nappies and toiletries for families in crisis
  • Housing crisis assistance and rent relief
  • Youth mentoring and outreach programs
  • Mental health and wellbeing services
  • Targeted support for veterans and seniors

A further $215,000 in larger-scale funding has been allocated to cornerstone organisations including:

  • Peninsula Community Legal Centre – expanding its tenancy legal service and running a School Lawyer Program in local schools.
  • Community Support Frankston – strengthening its community meals program through a new restaurant partnership.
  • Menzies Care for Kids – developing a sustainable model for school-based paediatric clinics.
  • Frankston Charitable Fund – continuing long-term grantmaking for local charities.
