The Committee for Frankston and Mornington Peninsula is gearing up to host a pivotal political forum on 14 February at the Mornington Racing Club, an event that CEO Josh Sinclair says will play a crucial role in a busy election year.
With both a state election and a potential federal election announcement looming, the forum will provide an opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates and sitting members representing the electorates of Dunkley and Flinders.
In an interview with RPP FM Peninsula Talks program, Mr Sinclair emphasised the significance of the event, stating that the timing aligns with the expected start of the election campaign period.
“We also view this as a role of the committee—this is a responsibility that we take seriously,”
Sinclair said.
“We want to help facilitate these sorts of events because they’re important for voters as they head to the election and they’re important for our members. So yeah, we’re really looking forward to it.”
The forum aims to offer residents and local businesses insight into policy priorities and campaign platforms while fostering an informed electorate ahead of the elections.
Further details, including the list of attending candidates and event schedule, are expected to be released closer to the date.
