Jet Ski Rider Discovers Deceaced Man in Rye Waters

A jet ski rider has made a shocking discovery this afternoon when he discovered a dead bod of an unidentified man floating in the waters of Rye.

Rye, Victoria – 3 January 2025

A man has been found deceased in the waters off Rye this evening. Emergency services were alerted just before 5:30 pm when a jet ski rider discovered the unresponsive individual near Butler Street.

The man was brought to shore, and CPR was administered; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has yet to be formally identified. While the exact circumstances surrounding the death are still under investigation, authorities are not treating it as suspicious.

Victoria Police will prepare a report for the coroner as part of the ongoing investigation.
