The Emergency Services Open Day at Hastings foreshore drew thousands on 22 March 2025, featuring police, SES, CFA, Coastguard, stunt riders, and community safety initiatives.

Thousands of locals flocked to Hastings foreshore on Saturday, 22 March 2025, for the highly anticipated Emergency Services Open Day. The event, which showcased the work of local emergency services, featured interactive displays, thrilling demonstrations, and community safety initiatives.

Attendees enjoyed exhibitions from Victoria Police, SES, CFA, Ambulance Victoria, the Coastguard, and many other emergency service groups. One of the highlights was the motorbike stunt crew, whose aerial acrobatics captivated the crowd.

The event also featured the ever-popular classic car display, a long-standing favourite in Hastings. Enthusiasts admired a range of vehicles, including vintage police cars, which added a nostalgic touch to the day.

A strong focus on crime prevention was evident, with Western Port Neighbourhood Watch fitting anti-theft screws on dozens of vehicles’ number plates. Local councillor Cr Kate Roper was also spotted assisting with the initiative.

Community engagement extended beyond emergency services, with Crime Stoppers hosting an information booth to encourage public reporting of criminal activity. A Senior Citizen Registry was also available, helping to register and support older residents in the community.
