Frankston seniors are being encouraged to register for a free two-part escorted train travel program starting on April 21, 2026, with sessions covering train safety, station navigation, myki tips and a guided trip to Melbourne to see the new Metro Tunnel.

Frankston seniors are being invited to take part in a free escorted train travel program aimed at helping older residents feel more confident using public transport. Frankston City Council says the 2026 program will run across two sessions and participants must attend both.

The first session will be held on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, from 2pm to 3pm at Karingal Place Neighbourhood Centre, 103 Ashleigh Avenue, Frankston. Council says the theory session will cover safety, navigating stations and myki card tips.

The second session is scheduled for Tuesday, 28 April 2026, from 10am to 2pm, with participants to meet at the ticket box at Frankston Station before travelling together into the city. According to the council listing, the group will take the train to Melbourne and visit the new Metro Tunnel, with Metro guides joining the trip.

Council has listed the program as free, with limited spots available. Registrations are being taken through Eventbrite. The contact officer listed for the event is Kelleigh Lane on 0482 691 444 or via kelleigh.lane@frankston.vic.gov.au.
