Frankston City Council is promoting the return of its annual Party in the Park event, with this year’s superhero-themed program set to take over Cruden Farm on Sunday 12 April during the school holidays.
The event was announced in a council media release issued on 2 April and is being promoted as a free family day out featuring entertainment, activities, food and community stalls.
What’s planned
Council says the event will include music, rides, food and drink vendors, with families encouraged to dress in costume to match the superhero theme.
Activities listed for the day include an interactive animal farm, pony rides, face painting, crafts and character meet-and-greets. Council also says sensory activity spaces will be available for children and families seeking a quieter environment.
Stage entertainment
Entertainment is set to include a main stage hosted by Em’s World, along with performances from the Funky Monkey Unexpected Superheroes Show, Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle, Highwire Astronaut Acrobats, Frankston City Libraries storytime, and performances by Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre and the Leawarra Calisthenics team.
Council says local businesses, community groups, sporting clubs and emergency services will also be represented through exhibition stalls across the site.
Cruden Farm to host again
The event will again be held at Cruden Farm, with council saying the venue offers eight hectares of gardens and open space for visitors to explore throughout the day.
Broader holiday push
Council has also linked Party in the Park to Frankston’s broader school holiday and events calendar, pointing to the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships running until 26 April, an extended season for PINES Forest Aquatic Centre until 19 April, and activities across Frankston City Libraries.
It also flagged upcoming events including Southside Festival in May and the Winter Fire Festival in June.
Party in the Park will be held at Cruden Farm on Sunday 12 April.
